what is a surprise bill?
We want you to understand costs before care begins. The No Surprises Act is a federal law that helps protect you from unexpected bills (also called balance bills).
Your Protections at The Surgical Clinic
- In-Network-Cost Protection: When your visit is in-network, even if some supporting providers are out-of-network, you will pay your usual copay, coinsurance, or deductible
- Advance Notice & Consent: Before out-of-network services are charged, we explain options and ask for your written consent
- Clear Itemized Billing: You will receive itemized statements, and you can also ask us to review any charge
No Surprises Act & Self-Pay
GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
If you do not have insurance, or you choose not to use it, you can receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before care begins. You may use a federal dispute process if your final bill exceeds the estimate of $400 or more.
