Bio

Dr. Maelee Yang (Dr. Mae) is an aesthetic fellowship trained plastic surgeon specializing in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. She majored in both Chemistry and Art Studio in college which is what drew her to plastic surgery in medical school. Dr. Mae recognizes that no two patients are the same and takes a personalized approach to each consultation. She trained at multiple institutions with pioneers in the field of plastic surgery equipping her with the most current, advanced techniques to deliver consistent, reliable, and safe results that are individualized to her patients’ goals and needs.

Education and Training

Dr. Yang attended Case Western Reserve University, graduating with honors in Chemistry and Art Studio. She then went on to The Ohio State University where she was accepted into a competitive dual degree program, obtaining her MD and MBA from the Fisher College of Business. There she learned the business side of medicine while also learning interpersonal skills to be a successful team member. While at Ohio State, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society and was selected to serve on the national board, serving as 1 of 3 medical students representing all the chapters nationwide. She then completed her integrated plastic surgery residency at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Yang went on to complete an aesthetic fellowship at Partners in Plastic Surgery with Dr. Dennis Hammond, one of the top 3 plastic surgeons in the United States. 

Personal

Dr. Yang is originally from Toledo, Ohio. She moved to Nashville after training to be closer to her family who have since moved to the South. Dr. Yang and her husband, Dr. Ian McComb an oral surgeon at Southern Oral Surgery, enjoy spending time outdoors with their dog, Bear. They are avid downhill skiers and enjoy traveling. She is a hot chicken sandwich aficionado and is looking forward to exploring Nashville.
