About Aaron Fitzsimmons

Board Certified Prosthetist and Executive Director, Prosthetics Institute

Aaron Fitzsimmons is an adjunct faculty member with Belmont University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and Vanderbilt University’s Engineering program. He has completed specialized training in upper-extremity limb loss, myoelectric technology, pediatric rehabilitation, vacuum assisted technology and microprocessor prosthetics.

Certifications

Aaron is a Certified Prosthetist and an Occupational Therapist. Aaron has worked in the field of Occupational Therapy as a home health therapist, staff hospital therapist, and hand therapist. He is a graduate of the University of TN, Memphis for Occupational Therapy and a graduate of the University of Connecticut as a prosthetist. He completed his residency at CFI Prosthetics under Ronney Snell, CPO, the past president of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA). Aaron served as the amputee clinic director for St. Jude Children’s Hospital after completing his residency and is the co-founder of Amputee Blade Runners. Fitzsimmons is dedicated to giving patients the best care that will improve their quality of life in Middle Tennessee.
